About Pavaki Capital Partners LP

More than 35 years ago, I received my first paycheck in the United States. Since then, this country has provided me with extraordinary opportunities for professional growth and financial advancement.

Early in my career, my employer introduced me to retirement savings through a matched contribution plan. Recognizing the long-term value of disciplined investing, I contributed the maximum allowable amount and carefully evaluated investment options. I selected a growth-oriented mutual fund, which at the time represented a widely accepted vehicle for long-term capital appreciation.

My wife and I have lived prudently and below our means. As our savings accumulated, I sought returns beyond what traditional savings accounts could offer. Rather than simply allocating additional funds to mutual funds, I began investing directly in equities.

I approached investing with intellectual rigor. I studied the works of Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Philip Fisher, Benjamin Graham, and Sir John Templeton, among others. I deepened my understanding of finance, including Beta, the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), Modern Portfolio Theory, the Sharpe Ratio, and risk-adjusted return frameworks. Over time, I implemented multiple strategies across growth, value, cyclical, and international equities.

My results were not driven by speculation in high-volatility stocks, but by constructing a diversified portfolio of approximately 40 carefully selected companies. As of July 31, 2021, my personal portfolio achieved annualized returns of 53.44%.

Over more than three decades of investing, I have experienced both restraint and conviction. During the internet bubble of 1999, I declined to invest in companies whose valuations I could not justify. While others celebrated short-term gains, I remained disciplined. When the bubble eventually burst, the long-term resilience of my portfolio reinforced the value of valuation-based investing.

Professionally, I am a physician. For over 30 years, I have served thousands of patients, primarily improving respiratory health outcomes. The discipline, analytical rigor, and long-term commitment required in medicine parallel those required in investing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I transitioned to telemedicine to support patients and community safety. This shift also provided time to formalize my investment practice.

In response, I founded Pavaki Capital Partners, a hedge fund structured to pursue disciplined, research-driven investing with a focus on absolute returns.

The name “Pavaki” is inspired by a Hindu symbol associated with purity, perseverance, patience, and knowledge—qualities essential to long-term investment success. Our objective is to analyze financial instruments rigorously, value them conservatively, manage risk prudently, and invest opportunistically when favorable asymmetries emerge.

We do not promise rapid or speculative gains. We do not pursue short-term market timing. Our mandate is long-term capital appreciation through disciplined execution and integrity.

Alignment of Interests

Pavaki Capital operates under a simple principle: alignment.

  • Management Fee: 0%

  • Performance Fee: 20% of profits

We earn compensation only when investors generate positive returns. Our capital is invested alongside our clients’ capital, ensuring that we share both risk and reward.

Governance and Infrastructure

We are committed to full regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Pavaki Capital engages experienced legal counsel and works with established prime brokers, fund administrators, and auditors. Operational costs associated with these services are borne by the fund; however, no management fee is charged to investors.

We operate with transparency, discipline, and respect for regulatory frameworks.

Investment Approach

Our strategy emphasizes:

  • Fundamental analysis

  • Conservative valuation methodologies

  • Diversification across high-conviction ideas

  • Risk awareness and capital preservation

  • Long-term compounding

We acknowledge that not every decision will succeed. Humility and continuous learning are central to our process. However, through disciplined execution and sustained effort, we aim to produce attractive absolute returns over multi-year investment horizons.

Investors in our structure commit capital with a long-term perspective, typically 2–3 years or longer. We believe patient capital enables rational decision-making and mitigates short-term market noise.

Values and Philosophy

Throughout my career, I have valued integrity, simplicity, and stewardship. Inspired by principles of disciplined action without attachment to short-term outcomes, I focus on process excellence rather than speculation.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunities this country has provided. That gratitude reinforces my responsibility to steward entrusted capital with the same care I apply to my own assets.

When you invest with Pavaki Capital, your capital is invested alongside mine. We safeguard and grow it together.

In the words of former SEC Chairman Arthur Levitt, the investing public deserves “plain English” in financial communication. I have endeavored to present our philosophy clearly and directly.

Thank you for your consideration and trust.
